Got this in a timely fashion for Christmas. Based on other reviews, we knew there would need to be a little time spent putting it together, so we started a few nights before Christmas. While my husband's first comment was "Whew, there must be over 300 pieces in here!" (Don't worry, there really aren't that many), the whole thing came together in about 3 hrs that my husband broke up over 2 nights while watching TV. Everything is nicely labelled and numbered, so if you can read and use tools in a relatively normal fashion, putting this together was easy. The kids (boy, 3.5 and girl, 2) absolutely love it and have played with it almost daily since Christmas. It's awesome that it is NOT pink, purple, or any pastel variation! The kids enjoy using the phone, changing the clock, turning the knobs and dials; we like that there is plenty of space to store "food" and pots and pans. If I personally had to make a minor comment (not a complaint), it would be that the oven and dishwasher doors open to the side rather than as pull-down doors - it makes it less realistic, but overall probably more safe. My kids don't mind that feature at all. Also I like that there is a shelf that slides out of dishwasher, though I don't think the kids have even discovered that yet! Not sure how well it will stand up to dirt (it IS mostly white) but it looks like it should wipe clean if care is taken. Am VERY glad we chose this kitchen and would buy it again in a heartbeat!

We wanted to adore this kitchen. After long and detailed assembly, we were thrilled with our son's reaction on Christmas morning 2009. But, as much as we all love the look and style and function, it has not been durable. My son is not delicate with toys, but nor is he unusually hard for any toddler. We monitor his play always, and his usage is appropriate. We have had lots of loose hardware, knobs popping off and general decline over the past 10 months or so of use. While the company will send replacement parts, this becomes really tedious. I've pulled out the tools and the glue more times than I can count. It is much the worse-for-wear and I attribute most of it to the pressed-board construction. The screws wear down the fiber board and there is no redeeming it after that. Doors become loose, panels shake and so forth. We really love it, but I think we have to get a new kitchen this year. For the price and assembly time, we expected at least a couple years of use.Overall, we feel like "yes, but..." Hope this helps with your buying decisions.

Comments about KidKraft Deluxe Lets Cook Play Kitchen:

I purchased this play kitchen for my 20 month old granddaughter as a Christmas gift. It is played with by her and her cousins, a 3 year old boy and a 23 month old girl every day. This is one of the highest quality kitchens I have seen and is really attractive. I highly recommend this set. Hayneedles's delivery was fast, and the product arrived in pristine condition.

Comments about KidKraft Deluxe Lets Cook Play Kitchen:

This toy has a lot of pieces and requires at least three hours of assembly. That would be ok, but unfortunately, some of the holes are not drilled properly. One of the screws almost popped through the top of the kitchen counter. It's only a matter of time before that becomes a problem. Of course, by then, you have the whole toy nearly assembled, so we're going to live with it and see what happens. Other than that, my grandchildren (18 mos & 2) love this kitchen.

Comments about KidKraft Deluxe Lets Cook Play Kitchen:

We purchased the kitchen for our now 20 mo daughter for Christmas. We ordered it a few weeks beforehand which was wise because it definitely took my very handy husband a full two hours to assemble. There was an issue with one of the shelf slides but KidKraft sent one to us in less than 2 days, which still gave him plenty of time to finish the assembly before the holiday.
My daughter has been playing with the kitchen almost daily since then! The only odd / awkward thing is that both the oven and dishwasher open with vertical hinges, which is not what happens with our real appliances - just a learning point for your child.
Otherwise, all the appliances look real and make appropriate sounds (clicking when you turn the oven knobs, etc). Plus each appliance has shelves which yields great storage space for all your child's kitchen accessories!
